Electric Blue Turin: a story that began in 2018
Eight years of rehearsals, concerts, travel and the music of The Cranberries. Then a clear choice: not to stop at the level already reached, but to build something new.
2018 · The starting point
One band, one rehearsal room, one shared project.
Electric Blue began in Turin in 2018. Four musicians started rehearsing with a clear idea: to bring the music of The Cranberries to the stage with respect, energy and an identity of their own.
After the first few rehearsals, the band's home became the space of Giorgio Giardina. At the time it was mainly a highly equipped rehearsal room with a recording area. Over the years, that same space grew into Circuiti Umani, now a recording and music production studio in Turin.
Throughout the history of that line-up, the room was made available to the band completely free of charge. It was not a service offered to the other members: it was the project's home. Giorgio believed in the band and in the idea that the project belonged to everyone.
Live
Turin, Italy, then Ireland.
The first shows quickly became a real journey. McRyan's, Il Maglio, Il Vinile and other Turin clubs accompanied the band's growth. Then came trips outside Piedmont, Il Bambolo in Tuscany, other Italian stages and finally international dates.
Ireland inevitably meant something different. Bringing the songs of The Cranberries there meant playing for an audience with a particular cultural and emotional relationship with that music. Those Irish dates became one of the most important parts of the band's history.
2021–2022 · The first real change
Enjoying playing together does not mean wanting to reach the same destination.
The need for change did not suddenly appear in 2026. Around 2021–2022, Elvis began pushing increasingly strongly for the project to take a step forward. Over time Giorgio reached the same conclusion.
The human relationship remained important. The band kept playing because there was friendship, affection, shared years and the pleasure of being on stage together. But it gradually became clear that different ambitions were living inside the same band.
Giorgio and Elvis had long worked professionally in music, across production, recording, studio work, concerts and recording projects. The other members approached music mainly as committed amateur musicians, with passion and dedication.
This is not a personal judgement. It is a concrete difference in how people understand work, growth and the level to which a musical project should be taken.
At a certain point, the question was no longer whether that line-up worked. The question was whether it could go any further.
2026 · The end of the historical line-up
The limit becomes a choice.
The paradox is that the final awareness arrived just as Electric Blue was reaching some of the most important results in its history. The number of dates was growing, Ireland had become a reality and the name built since 2018 had gained its own recognition.
Yet that accumulated experience made it clear to Giorgio and Elvis that continuing to reproduce what had already been done would mean standing still. In 2026 the historical line-up reached the end of its journey.
The previous years were not erased. A line-up ended. From that point, two different roads opened.
The Electric Blue name
A clear choice: move forward.
To date Giorgio and Elvis have made no claim over the continued use of the name Electric Blue.
Not because that history does not belong to them as well. They directly contributed to the birth, growth and eight years of the project, from 2018 to 2026.
The decision not to open a battle over the name was deliberate. After the end of the historical line-up, it seemed right not to turn an artistic and personal separation into a dispute over something that had been built together.
We chose to change. We built a new line-up, a new identity and a new artistic direction. And we gave that path a new name: Electric Blue Experience.
We expected that the separation might lead to a similar evolution on the other side, both in the path and in the name. That did not happen. Part of the previous line-up chose to continue using the Electric Blue name.
We took note of that.
We chose to give the future a new name rather than fight others over the name of the past.
An understanding that already existed
Giorgio, Elvis and Orlando were not starting from zero.
When the time came to build the new line-up, Orlando Barbuto was a natural choice. Giorgio, Elvis and Orlando already had many years of music together behind them: they are the core of Proclama.
With Proclama they released two albums, worked in the studio with established production professionals, played festivals and clubs across Italy and brought their original music to important stages including Pistoia Blues. Their path also included experiences alongside acts such as Lacuna Coil and work with professionals including Marco Barusso and Mario Riso.
The new line-up therefore did not begin with three musicians who still needed to learn how to work together. Giorgio, Elvis and Orlando already had years of shared stage, studio and professional experience.

The new voice
Michela Gallia: the element that completes the Experience.
Michela Gallia joins that core on vocals and guitar. She was not chosen to reproduce a previous voice or to imitate Dolores O'Riordan. She joined because she brings personality, musicianship and an interpretative strength that opens exactly the space the new line-up was looking for.
With Michela, the direction becomes complete: not a simple replacement of musicians, but a line-up in which every member can genuinely contribute to arrangements and to the construction of the sound.
The new chapter
Electric Blue Experience is born.
On 11 June 2026 the Electric Blue Experience trademark was filed.
Giorgio Giardina on guitar, Elvis D'Elia on drums, Orlando Barbuto on bass, guitars and acoustic textures, Michela Gallia on vocals and guitar.
This is not the old project with two different musicians. It is the consequence of a decision developed over years: combining experience, professionalism, greater musical freedom and a line-up capable of sustaining a different level of ambition.
This is where The Cranberries Reimagined begins. The songs remain recognisable, but they breathe again. Dynamics, sound, structure and intensity can change. Not a frozen copy. A living concert.
Electric Blue is part of the story. Electric Blue Experience is the direction chosen for the future.
